The academic sector of science is primarily concentrated in the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (NAS KR), which unites 25 research institutes and centers.

Currently, many research structures in the republic have established direct connections with foreign scientific organizations and scientific and technical professionals.
