Exploring Cultures Through Stories and Places: the Second Virtual Session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange
The second virtual session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange between STLCC and IUCA took place on February 27, 2025, further strengthening cross-cultural dialogue and academic collaboration. The session featured a virtual tour of STLCC’s campus, a presentation on St. Louis and Missouri, and an interactive quiz on local culture. A highlight of the event was IUCA student Akynov Adil’s recitation of the Manas epic, which introduced STLCC students to Kyrgyz oral traditions and sparked discussions on folklore and cultural heritage.
This collaborative program is made possible in part by the support of the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center (IAUNRC) at Indiana University, which plays a key role in promoting cross-cultural educational initiatives.

First Virtual Session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange: A Successful Start to Cross-Cultural Learning
The first virtual session of the Virtual Cultural Exchange course successfully brought together students from STLCC and IUCA, fostering cross-cultural communication and enhancing English language skills. Exchange Student Polina Kozhanova: An Unforgettable Semester at IUCA
Polina Kozhanova, a third-year student from Russia, spent a semester at the International University of Central Asia as part of an exchange program in the English Linguistics department. In an interview, she shared her experiences, expressed gratitude to her professors, and reflected on how this opportunity shaped her academic and personal perspectives. Polina highlighted the high quality of education, the chance to practice English with native speakers, and the warm hospitality that made her stay in Kyrgyzstan truly unforgettable.

On November 1, 2024, Monica Zhang, a Fulbright Scholar and faculty member of the "English Linguistics" program at IUCA, conducted a workshop for students. Participants learned how to craft winning essays for U.S. government-funded programs and received valuable TOEFL tips.

At the Center of Innovation: the International University of Central Asia as a Platform for the Professional Growth of English Teachers
The English Linguistics Program at the International University of Central Asia hosted a seminar on innovative teaching methods. The event was attended by over 50 participants and focused on interactive and inclusive approaches to teaching English with elements of social-emotional learning (SEL).
