FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Dear International Student!
Congratulations on your admission to the International University of Central Asia (IUCA)!
Now it is important to properly arrange all the necessary documents for your legal stay and studies at IUCA.
For this purpose, we have prepared a detailed guide for you.
STEP 1. Check Whether You Need a Visa
Before starting the visa process, you must determine the visa regime applicable to citizens of your country.
You can do this on the official government website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic — E-Visa system — using the link below:
https://www.evisa.e-gov.kg/step_1.php?lng=en
Please find your country in the list and check:
Whether a visa is required;
Whether visa-free entry is allowed;
The permitted period of stay.
Important Information About Visa-Free Regime
If your country has a visa-free regime with the Kyrgyz Republic, you may enter Kyrgyzstan without obtaining a visa in advance.
However, this does NOT exempt you from the obligation to complete registration and other required migration procedures after arrival.
In this case, all necessary documents are оформed inside the Kyrgyz Republic after your arrival.
STEP 2. Initial Student Visa (“Applicant” Category)
If, after reviewing the E-Visa website, you determine that a visa is required for your studies, you must apply for an initial student visa under the category “Applicant”.
You must provide:
A photo
A passport scan
The International Office of IUCA independently prepares the official support letter for submission of the initial student visa application, as well as other required documentation.
What Are the Processing and Validity Periods?
Visa processing time: 7–10 working days (provided all rules are followed and documents are correct).
Visa validity period: From 1 to 3 months (depending on the selected option).
What Is the Cost of the Initial Student Visa?
The visa cost depends on several factors:
1. International Agreements
If there are bilateral agreements between your country and the Kyrgyz Republic regarding student visas, the visa may be issued free of charge.
2. Type of Visa (Single Entry or Multiple Entry)
Single Entry
Valid for one entry only;
Becomes invalid upon exit and requires a new visa application;
Approximate cost: 4,500–5,500 KGS (52–62 USD).
Multiple Entry
Allows unlimited entries and exits during the validity period;
More convenient for students (to travel home or abroad and return to the university);
Approximate cost: 5,500–7,300 KGS (62–83 USD).
We recommend applying for a Multiple Entry visa due to its greater convenience and flexibility.
What Urgent Processing Options Are Available?
If urgent processing is required (within 2 working days), the cost may range from 16,500 to 22,000 KGS (185–248 USD).
This option is used when fast processing is necessary. Typically, it is not required for initial student visas.
You may check the exact cost on the official website:
https://www.evisa.e-gov.kg/step_1.php?lng=en
How Is Payment Made for the Initial Student Visa?
There are two payment options:
Option 1:
The International Office sends you a payment link;
You enter your bank card details (Visa);
In the form, you must indicate the email: iao@iuca.kg;
After payment, the specialist confirms receipt and sends you the payment receipt by email.
Option 2:
You transfer the visa fee directly to the International Office specialist after contacting them via WhatsApp or email iao@iuca.kg;
The specialist receives the funds and pays the application using a bank card;
You receive a payment receipt confirming the visa payment.
STEP 3. Registration at the Place of Temporary Stay
After receiving your initial student visa, you must complete registration at your place of temporary residence through the Public Service Center (TsON).
TsON address: Tokmok city, Ibraimova Street 1/1
Registration fee: 632 KGS
Required Documents for Registration:
Passport;
Study contract with IUCA (original);
Official support letter from IUCA (provided by the International Office specialist);
Copy of the initial student visa;
Registration address (must be provided to the International Office before preparing the support letter).
Important: The property owner where you will reside and register must be personally present at TsON and provide:
Passport of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic;
Technical passport of the property.
After completing temporary registration, the student must inform the International Office specialist and provide a copy of the registration document.
If You Live in the IUCA Guest House (Dormitory)
If you live in the dormitory, you must contact the International Office within one working day after receiving your initial student visa.
International Office: Building “A”, 3rd floor, Room 308
Registration fee: 641 KGS Payment method: online via bank card Processing time: 1 working day
Required Documentation and Information:
Passport scan or ID;
Study contract with IUCA;
Valid initial student visa;
Information about your course and field of study, as well as your dormitory room number.
Registration is processed through the official system:“Online Registration of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons at the Place of Stay in the Kyrgyz Republic” - EREG.
Important: Obtaining a PIN (Personal Identification Number)
After registration, you must obtain a PIN. The PIN is issued at TsON free of charge.
However, to obtain it, you must provide a notarized translation of your passport if it is in Latin script.
The translation must be completed by a notary. Without a notarized translation, TsON will not issue your PIN. Registration is issued for the same period as your initial student visa.
STEP 4. One-Year Student Visa
20 days before the expiration of your initial student visa, you must begin preparing documents for a one-year student visa.
Required Documentation and Information:
Photograph (JPEG, white background);
Passport (scan);
Study contract with IUCA;
Scan of the initial student visa;
Mandatory Health Insurance Policy (OMS);
Actual residential address;
Information about your field of study;
Information about your last three entry dates to the Kyrgyz Republic.
All additional documentation is prepared by the International Office.
Cost of the One-Year Student Visa:
Multiple Entry student visa: 15,400 KGS (176 USD)
Single Entry student visa: 9,500 KGS (109 USD)
Urgent processing within 2 working days: 30,000–46,000 KGS (325–525 USD)
Payment procedure and processing times are the same as for the initial visa.
Important: The renewal process must begin earlier because obtaining the Mandatory Health Insurance Policy (OMS) takes time.
The OMS policy allows foreign citizens to receive certain medical services in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Without a valid OMS policy, extension of the student visa is not possible.
STEP 5. Annual Registration
After receiving the one-year student visa, you must complete registration for the entire validity period of the visa.
The procedure for annual registration is the same as your initial registration.
After completing the registration process, you must provide the registration document to the International Office specialist.
Have you completed all the steps in this guide? Congratulations!
You are now a fully registered international student of the International University of Central Asia!
