Students of the International Relations and Law programs at the International University of Central Asia (IUCA) visited the Embassy of Germany in the Kyrgyz Republic, where they took part in an informative meeting focused on diplomatic work, international cooperation, and contemporary international relations.

A distinctive feature of the visit was that the initiative came from the students themselves. They independently established contact with the Embassy, coordinated the visit, and participated in organizing the meeting. This experience demonstrates not only their interest in professional development but also their ability to establish professional contacts, take initiative, and organize events involving representatives of diplomatic institutions.

During the meeting, students learned about the Embassy’s main functions and areas of activity, its current work, and various programs and projects. Particular attention was given to the objectives and funding mechanisms of these initiatives, as well as the opportunities they provide for young people.

The students showed particular interest in academic exchange and international mobility programs. Participants discussed opportunities to take part in various initiatives, including the Ferienjob program, and learned more about possibilities for gaining international academic and professional experience.

An important part of the meeting was devoted to contemporary politics and current issues in international relations. The discussion helped students better understand Germany’s position on selected international issues and see how a country’s foreign policy priorities are translated into diplomatic practice.

Students also learned about the Ambassador’s professional career path, including the experience, education, and competencies required to pursue a diplomatic career. Direct interaction with representatives of the diplomatic community provided valuable insight into professional requirements and career opportunities in the field of international relations.

The visit became an important element of IUCA’s practice-oriented approach to education. At the same time, independently organizing the meeting gave students additional practical experience in professional communication, establishing institutional contacts, planning, and event organization — competencies that are particularly important for future professionals in international relations and law.
