English Linguistics Program

On April 21, students of the “Linguistics: English Language” program, along with students from the International Relations program at the International University of Central Asia (IUCA), visited the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek.

The visit was held as part of the Freedom250 initiative, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Representatives of the Public Diplomacy Section — Edzhey Rao and Jake Williams — hosted the session, introducing students to the core values of freedom and innovation and presenting the Founding Fathers Museum.

Students gained valuable insights into how diplomacy functions in practice and discussed the role of U.S. diplomatic missions in fostering international relations and educational opportunities.

During the visit, students actively engaged in discussion, asking questions about exchange programs, educational opportunities, and career paths, as well as the importance of English language proficiency and leadership skills in building an international career.

Such visits help students broaden their academic perspective and better understand how English can serve as a powerful tool for global communication 🌍
