Research activity is an essential component of university education, engaging not only faculty members but also students. The International University of Central Asia has traditionally placed strong emphasis on the development of student research.

On April 13, 2026, the faculty of the English Linguistics Program organized an interuniversity student conference entitled “Innovative Methods of Teaching English in Educational Institutions.” The conference brought together students from the International University of Central Asia, Bishkek State University, Kyrgyz State University, Ala-Too International University, and Kyrgyz National University, creating a strong academic platform for interuniversity collaboration and exchange of ideas.

The conference was opened by IUCA President John R. Clark and the Head of the English Linguistics Program, A.E. Maksakova. The program featured 21 presentations addressing current issues in English language teaching.

Participants explored a wide range of topics, including digital technologies and artificial intelligence, game-based and project-based learning, speaking skills development, differentiated instruction, as well as online communication, intercultural competence, and critical thinking.

Participation in the conference provided students with an opportunity to present their research, engage with peers from other universities, broaden their academic perspectives, and develop public speaking skills in English in an authentic academic setting.

The International University of Central Asia and the English Linguistics Program will continue to actively support student research through the organization of interuniversity and international academic events.
