Inspiration, Experience, and Diplomacy: Vikie Perese Meets with IUCA Students
How an International Expert Shared Unique Insights on Security and Cooperation
On February 14, the International University of Central Asia hosted an exclusive meeting with Vikie Perese – the Regional Country Director of the United States Air Force for Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This was a rare opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to engage with a high-level expert and gain insights into global security, diplomacy, and career paths in defense.
Vikie Perese has an extraordinary career: she served in the U.S. Air Force, worked at the Pentagon, translated presidential conversations on the Washington–Moscow hotline, worked as an FBI analyst, and even taught in schools. Today, she leads strategic cooperation efforts for the USAF in six countries across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
During the meeting, she shared her knowledge of international relations, decision-making in security policies, and career opportunities in this dynamic field. Students eagerly asked questions, discussed global challenges, and gained real-world perspectives from an expert.
This event was truly impactful for all participants, providing knowledge, motivation, and possibly even shaping future career aspirations. A huge thank you to Vikie Perese for an inspiring and insightful discussion!
