On April 3, 2026, the International University of Central Asia hosted an extraordinary event — the Poetry Marathon "And Life, and Tears, and Love…" The event was entirely organized and run by students of the Pedagogy programme, who took charge of everything from concept to curtain call.

The marathon brought together two formats: a poetry recitation contest and an open poetry salon. From the stage came the verses of Alexander Pushkin, Marina Tsvetaeva, Boris Pasternak, Pavel Davydov, and others. Each performance became a living conversation about feeling, meaning, and the power of the spoken word.

Among students, the winners were Ayana Chudakova (BA-124), Madina Umkhaeva (LNG-125), and Yasmina Ubulkasymova (PED-124). In the faculty category, first places went to P.L. Veis, V.A. Bulatova, and R.V. Valvakov, while the audience favourite award was presented to I.A. Miasarov. A highlight of the evening was the debut of two student poets — Amir Kuruchbekov (BA-124) and Darya Solovyova (PED-125). Their original verse drew a warm response from the audience: after their performances, audience members lined up for autographs.

The Poetry Marathon is proof that university life extends far beyond syllabi and deadlines. And the Pedagogy students who organised it demonstrated in practice exactly what they are training to teach: the ability to bring people together, create space for dialogue, and inspire.
