First-Year Law Students of IUCA Visited the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic
First-year students of the “Law” program at the International University of Central Asia (group LAW-125) participated in an off-site educational visit to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, gaining early exposure to real legislative processes.

4/10/26

During the visit, students familiarized themselves with lawmaking procedures, observed the work of the parliament, and engaged in a professional dialogue. This format allowed first-year students to go beyond traditional classroom learning and develop a practical understanding of how the highest representative body of state power functions.

The students were welcomed by Member of Parliament Dastan Bekeshev and his team. During the meeting, he shared his practical experience in parliamentary work, spoke about his professional path, and emphasized the importance of developing critical thinking among future lawyers, as well as the effective use of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence tools.

Particular attention was given to legislative initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity, including the publication of the Constitution and works of Kyrgyz literature in Braille.

A key part of the visit was attending a live parliamentary session, where students were able to observe how laws of the Kyrgyz Republic are drafted, discussed, and adopted.

During the open dialogue, students also shared their experience of studying at IUCA, highlighting the importance of academic integrity, openness, and transparency in the educational process. They also noted regular informal meetings with university leadership, where ideas and proposals for improving the academic environment are discussed.

Such practice-oriented activities play an important role in the professional development of students from their first year, helping them build essential legal competencies and understand real mechanisms of state functioning.
