BACHELOR OF ARTS IN ECONOMICS
The Bachelor of Arts in Economics (BA) Program at the International University in Central Asia was established on July, 2010.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The four-year full time BA program offers an excellent opportunity for highly motivated students interested both in academic and professional career. The courses in theoretical and applied economics, taught in Russian and English.
Program students are also becoming fully proficient in the English language and in the use of modern computer technology. IUCA provides the access to library and computer facilities, which includes Internet access. Our computer labs and the library offer the newest technology and continuously updated resources.
Highly experienced and dedicated faculty members teach all courses. All of the lecturers invited to teach in the program have a solid knowledge of economics and related fields that is derived from academic, research or practical experience.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
The objective of the BA (Economics) Program is to offer students an understanding of market-oriented economics by applying the best academic practices and standards from around the world. Taking into account the values and needs of the Central Asian economic community, the program has been also giving an emphasis to the issues of economies in transition.
The program prepares students to effectively manage private and public policy problems by having students learn how to analyze a wide range of issues from an economic perspective and by proposing appropriate decisions. Thus, the graduates of the BA program in Economics acquire necessary skills to pursue diverse career opportunities or continue education at a postgraduate level in Central Asia or abroad.
