Economics is a new academic program of IUCA, beginning with the 2010/11 academic year. Courses and subjects in economics meet the requirements of the State educational standards of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as programs offered by U.S. universities for a bachelor's degree in economics

The program includes general education, the fundamental courses taken by all economics students, plus specialized and elective courses.
Bachelor’s graduates of IUCA’s Faculty of Economics will get fundamental training in current economic theory, up-to-date information processing technologies, statistics and econometrics. Basic training is combined with active learning of applied disciplines: Corporate Finance, Investment Analysis, Accounting, International standards of Auditing and Financial Reporting, Taxation, Financial Management, Banking, etc.
The program’s director is Associate Professor Munara Artykovna Myrzabayeva, Candidate of Economic Sciences.
She is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the Kyrgyz State University. This was followed by
graduate school at the Moscow Institute of Finance, where she received the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences.
Myrzabayeva has also attended the School of the Market Economy (Economic Development Institute, Washington, DC), done the study tour at the University of San Francisco in economics and business, attended the Seminar for Economic Advisors of the Government of the KR (German Foundation for International Development, Berlin, FRG), and seminars on Economic Governance at the Macro Level. Japanese Experience (IMF, Tokyo, Japan), Legal aspects of international financial institutions (IMF, JVI, Vienna, Austria); Strategy and Implementation of Monetary Policies in the Euro Area (Deutches Bundesbank, Frankfurt, Germany), Problems of Professional Education (Prague, Dijon , France), and Economic Growth and Restructuring (World Bank, Samarkand, Uzbekistan).
She teaches Introduction to Economics and Macroeconomics I and II.
